Warranty Policy

1. General

This Warranty Policy applies to equipment and products supplied by Kelston Machinery.

This warranty covers manufacturing defects only under normal workshop operating conditions.

This warranty forms part of our Terms & Conditions of Trade.


2. Warranty Coverage

This is a parts-only warranty.

The warranty covers replacement parts for manufacturing defects occurring during the warranty period.

Remedy is strictly limited to the supply of replacement parts, repair, or credit at our discretion.

Labour, travel, installation, freight, downtime, and any associated service costs are not included unless expressly agreed in writing prior to supply.


3. Warranty Period

Unless otherwise stated on the product page or invoice:

  • Structural components: 12 months from invoice date
  • Mechanical and electrical parts: 6–12 months depending on product
  • Wear and consumable parts: Not covered

Warranty period begins from the original invoice date.


4. Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • Incorrect installation or setup
  • Improper electrical connection or voltage irregularities
  • Lack of maintenance
  • Overloading or misuse
  • Operation outside manufacturer specifications
  • Use in sandblasting rooms or high-abrasive dust environments
  • Corrosion or environmental damage
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Modifications or unauthorised repairs
  • Freight damage not reported within required timeframe

Any unauthorised repair or modification may void the warranty.


5. Heavy Industrial Environments

Equipment used in extreme or abrasive environments may require additional maintenance and protective measures.

Customers are responsible for ensuring the equipment is suitable for their intended application.

Standard warranty coverage may not apply where equipment is operated outside normal workshop conditions.


6. Warranty Claims Procedure

To lodge a warranty claim:

  1. Notify us in writing.
  2. Provide invoice number and product details.
  3. Provide clear photographs and/or video evidence.
  4. Do not dismantle equipment unless instructed.

We may request return of defective parts for inspection.

Warranty decisions are made after assessment.


7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under New Zealand law:

Our liability is limited to repair, replacement, or credit of the defective product.

We are not liable for loss of business, loss of profit, downtime, or consequential or indirect damages.


8. Consumer Guarantees Act

Where goods are supplied for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
